SELECTION OF RECIPIENTS
For the purpose of determining eligible recipients of PLBC Scholarship awards, a scholarship selection
committee shall be convened that will be comprised of seven members (including the chairman) of the PLBC. Members of the scholarship committee shall be reflective of the diverse geographical areas which the PLBC’s collective membership represents. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in
school, community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal. An overall combination of “merit” and “need,” as calculated by the PLBC’s Scholarship Selection Committee, must be demonstrated in order for the applicant to be selected to receive an award.
At the end of May, our finalists will be notified via email. (It is important to emphasize that not all applicants will be selected as award recipients.)
